Vista SP1 is available

Vista SP1 is available through the Microsoft Download Center. It is 434.5MB download. I have been using SP1 since it was released to technet Plus subscribers. It does offer some speed improvements but not as much as I would have liked. The only good thing is I have had less lock-ups that require me to restart. But even with SP1 I am still having to restart my computer once a week to get my speed back. If you have Vista I would recommend installing SP1 for the few benefits it does bring.

Apparently, no one is very happy with the update: http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2008/03/20/vista_sp1_complaints/

Says it does not work with nvidia drivers (like the ones I have), so I’m glad I didn’t download it.

I haven’t had any major issues with SP1 and have installed it on 5 machines so far. I looked and all 5 of those computers have ATI cards though. I would keep checking to see when your nvidia drivers get updated because SP1 does have some extra speed in it. Are you happy with Vista now?
