Video: Installing Hard Drive in the Popcorn Hour
I finally installed a hard drive inside the Popcorn Hour. It is only a 80GB hard drive but I wanted to use the device for BitTorrent. It seems like it buffers things faster now too. I don’t know if it actually does or if I just think so. Check out the video below.

Maybe you should have install the power cable on the harddrive first before slide the drive onto the IDE connector.
Uhh, the popcorn hour is advertised as being able to have a hard drive installed. This is part of it’s purpose. It’s not really a hack or anything secret.
I don’t claim that it is a hack. The video is a how-to. There were other misinformed websites claiming that it was a hack.
Thanks for posting this, I just got a new PCH and I wanted to see what the process was to format the disk after the physical installation was complete.
There seems to be some discrepancy about whether or not a power cable is needed. I don’t think I got one with my A-110 and I watched another video where none is used.
Still, without one, mine doesn’t work, so I am in the market. Would someone mind a posting a link to the exact power cable needed so I can buy one?
thanks.
