OSXBMC is Now Plex
The Mac version of XBMC has a new name, Plex. They have been searching for one since they split from the XBMC project. But really they needed a different name since Xbox Media Center really doesn’t fit running on Mac.
The one name that stuck was Plex. I like it because it evokes “cineplex” and the suffix means “comprising a number of parts” which the application certain does. In mathematics, you use the suffix to mean “ten to the power of the number” (e.g. oneplex = 10).
They are still trying to figure out which domain name to use. plex2, plexsquared. Domains are just hard to find.
