I don't see the Roku box as ever being free. Netflix continues to add huge numbers of subscribers. Netflix is also contract free. I could see them giving away hardware if they made you sign a contract for 2 years. Like what they do with cellphones. But the Netflix business model has been working.

I have two Roku boxes and a Blu-ray player with Netflix streaming. I pay for one disc at a time. It is well worth the money for me because I generally stream from Netflix nightly.

I have a silly question, a friend at work is determined that Roku will be free when you subscribe to Net Flix in April 2010. Is this true?
Thank you,
Sharon
