Media Center’s Identity Crisis
What is Media Center. Since Vista Premium and Ultimate come with media center software how do you know you are really getting a media center. Media center computers usually included a tuner card. But now computer manufactures can call almost any computer they make with vista a media center computer. I really like this from the article:
This issue became patently clear when the folks at HP begged me to change a headline on a recent blog that originally read, “HP Exits Media Center Business.” Spokespeople insisted that the company only dropped its Digital Entertainment Centers (DEC), the Media Centers that look like A/V components and are meant to serve as entertainment machines. But HP was still selling lots of other Media Centers, they asserted.
