Lifehacker was nice enough to take that keynote and make it eight minutes long with just the stuff you want to hear about. I have embedded the video below. Windows 8 definitely has some very cool features.

I have embedded the video preview below. It’s a very elegant way to mix a touch interface with traditional PC interface. It’s a shame that we’ll have to wait another year for it to be available. The video below is the first new video and I wanted to point it out. They setup a computer store in her house and she gets to buy a new computer. The worse part is the last line: “I’m a PC and I’m Gonna Kill Him”. That line can mean two different things. She isn’t happy that he had Microsoft setup a store in her house. Or that she isn’t happy he made her buy a PC. Either way they should have dropped the I’m a PC ad campaign and went with something else. I’m sure this is just the first of many they have lined up.

Whomever created this knew what they were doing. It’s a great look back on how far the OS has come over the years. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that this is possible.

The new firmware is ready for Windows 7 and it’s “Play To” feature. It will allow you to push media from Windows Media Player to the WD box over the network. Not too bad of an update. I can’t believe WD is just now spreading the word about it.

I always thought BumpTop was cool to play around with but I couldn’t image it making me more productive. I’m still not sure what Google has planned for the software. The video below shows it in action. If you want to try it out yourself BumpTop still has the downloads available for a little longer. Then it will be up to Google to decide what they want to do with it.

The program only works with Windows.

One thing that really bothers me when using Windows is navigating around. I’m so use to the Macs two, three and even four finger gestures that Windows feels like it’s living in the 90s. While there are a few different programs in the post it’s not complicated. Plus you can get a lot of control for only the things you want.
