Just like the first review I posted of the card, they loved it. The Ceton card costs $399 but when you compare that to other cable and satellite DVR setups it’s not bad. The card gives you the ability to record 4 HD TV shows with a single card. Since it uses a CableCard it also does all your premium account. Check out their review.

Timothy at UsingWindowsHomeServer got a email that Ceton’s new 4 tuner CableCard has started production. The good news is that the product will probably still make it to market. It’s just been delayed for awhile. A lot of Windows Media Center fans are waiting but their patience is running out, especially if another card makes it to market first. It’s kind of funny that they mention the iPhone and iPad in the email. I’m thinking that Ceton and their CableCard aren’t on the same level.

There is now some more information on the HDHomeRun CableCard tuner. The device will have 3 HD tuners and still cost $249. It was first said that the device would only have 2 tuners so you are getting a bonus for the same price. They also expect to have the device ready for the Holidays. I’m guessing it’s going to be on a lot of Windows Media Center fans wish list. It’s cheaper than Centons 4 tuner card and it attaches to the network, which is better in my book. Engadget HD has all the details.

Windows Media Center being part of Windows Embedded Standard 7 could be a very good thing for media center users. It means that Windows Media Center could be on set-tops and connected TVs. It also might provide the extender functionality that Windows Media Center fans have been waiting for. CableCard has been making promising steps forward. Windows 7 added some really nice features to media center. Getting devices that act as extenders might be that last piece to push whole home DVR.
