Apple has updated Boot Camp to support Windows 7. They released a 32-bit and 64-bit version. They have support for Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate. They also added support for the Magic Mouse in Windows. The question that has come up a lot that is fixed now is the red LED on the digital audio port is now off. I deployed 35 MacBook Pros with about 6 running Windows 7 and I’m glad to finally have the update. Anyone that has tried to get Windows 7 installed and all drivers running knows it had been a problem.

Windows 7 has a lot of great features that aren’t found in the previous versions of Windows. While themes might not be high on your reason to upgrade, they look a lot better than XP and Vista themes. With directions from Digital Inspiration you can get those great looking Windows 7 themes in XP and Vista. You aren’t going to get Aero in XP but you can still add a little bit of current Windows 7 to your dated OS.

I don’t watch a lot of Family Guy but I’ll probably watch the November 8th episode. The show will be commercial free and sponsored by Windows 7. The clip above is a little preview of the show. I’ll watch just to see how much Windows 7 talk will be in there. I think it would be funnier if they made fun of Windows 7 the entire show. This is part of Microsoft’s new marketing for Windows 7.

Microsoft posted a FAQ page on Digital Cable and Windows Media Center. SDV support will only work with Windows 7 but other enhancements will work in Windows Vista. The 1.19.12 firmware update will be available on October 22nd with the release of Windows 7. There is also going to be a program released to test your machines ability to handle CableCard. The FAQ might not answer all your questions but it’s a good start, especially since it’s ahead of the Windows 7 launch.
