A post by Logitech said that they were selling it for $50 off so I looked around and it looks like most online store have it for $250 now. Not sure how long Amazon has it had for $250 but the price is coming down to a point where more people will buy. I was still hoping for a $199 price tag. Even though GoogleTV has had it’s launch problems, I’m still intrigued by the OS.

The specs and software look great. Google TV is going to be a serious contender in the fight for your streaming needs. The Logitech Revue is available now for pre-order. The biggest issue is the price at $299. I’m not sure where my impulse buy point is but it’s definitely not $300. The AppleTV for $99 was easy to pull the trigger. While I probably won’t be pre-ordering, it will be on my want list. It will be interesting to see, when the Revue hits the hands of owners later this month, what people can do with it.

Logitech is also launching accessories with the Revue like a 720p camera, keyboard and free iPhone/Android app.

The commercial is embedded below and the first thing that came to mind was “What”. It’s strange way to start publicity on a new product. Plus wouldn’t you want to show how TV could be with Google TV. Oh well, I’m still excited for Google TV and the Logitech Revue. I’m just waiting for that pre-order page to show up.

It doesn’t show any visuals about the box itself but shows that the harmony software is built-in. And that makes for a awesome set-top box. They demoed a iPhone controlling the box and all other components hooked up to the TV. Even though they showed it being controlled by an iPhone they have an Android client too. Engadget has details on the box itself so check out the link above. The more I read the more excited I get about GoogleTV.

Logitech announced two new harmony remotes. The 650 and the 600 are both under $100 which is a great price point to it. The 650 being the nicer of the two is $100 and features a color screen. The 600 is only $80 and doesn’t have a colored screen. I would spend the extra $20 for a color screen. I currently have the 890 and 880 at my house and have setup a 550 and 880 for family. These are great remotes that are easy to program. I’ll probably be looking at the 650 for the bedroom. Right now you can pre-order the 650 from Amazon.

It turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into a wireless trackpad. I’m guessing it won’t have a problem running on the iPad when it comes out. The great news is that it’s free and works with Mac and Windows. It’s available in the app store now.

Logitech announced the harmony 900 remote. What makes this remote special is it can do RF to IR with the included adapter. I have been looking at putting a IR repeater in for the theater I am building. The cost was about $200 plus my labor. While this remote is $400 I think it’s a bargain for what it provides. Gizmodo has a review on the 900 and calls it the best universal remote by Logitech. It mixes buttons with a touch screen for easy control. Like I said above it comes with the RF to IR adapter and also includes a dock for charging. You can pre-order the remote right now from Amazon.

This is a nice video walk-thru of the Logitech Harmony 1000. I still want one of these remotes but can’t justify spending the money. The great thing about it and why I’m leaning towards getting it for the movie theater is it will work with Windows Media Center.

To top it all off, the device can interface with Windows Media Center to show you folders and let you navigate around using the Harmony 1000.

I really want one of these remotes. It is a bit pricey at $499, but from the reviews I have read it is worth the money. The link is to a nicely detailed review of the remote.
