BumpTop Goes Multi-Touch

BumpTop, the 3D desktop environment has added multi-touch gestures. The video above shows it in action. I have some multi-touch laptops coming soon and will have to play around with the new version. BumpTop has added multi-touch gestures that aren’t available on any other device. You can “lasso” things, “shove” them, “scrunch” them, and “crop” them. Pretty amazing stuff.

I can’t imagine how computers are going to be in 10 years. This is the coolest thing I’ve seen. It’s like a giant iPhone, but much better!

There are lots of people that think the keyboard and mouse are on the way out. It will be interesting in 10 years. Software based keyboards are getting better and will continue with technologies like piezo technology in the Blackberry Storm 2. Multi-touch has been on Macs for years. I think more people are familiar with it and will push companies to keep innovating in the world of touch.
